The Ancible Review

Ancible

The thing about being a wargammer is there is so much more to it that gaming.  For starter’s you need to buy the mini’s, assemble them, paint them and then when that’s done they have to be stored away to stop all that hard work from going to waste.  It tends to be the little things in the hobby we take for granted.  Like Glue.

Now I’ll be one of the first to admit that i have just bought any old Super Glue to stick my mini’s together and have never given it a thought.  So when Jamie Lang from Filla-Glue (http://www.Filla-Glue.com) offered us a sample of their amazing Filla-Glu I at first thought its just glue isn’t it there all the same aren’t they?  Well in a word no, there not the same at all.

Now the guys at Fila-Glu have had 30 years in the adhesive market so they certainly know what they’re doing and the range just seems to be expanding.

Now as a starter they sent us 7 different types of there glue as well as the aptly named Kicka pen.

The Filla-Glue instant comes in 3 Vicosity or for those who don’t want to look that up its the amount of time it takes to dry.  The low (LV) will dry in 2-6 and the high (HV) in 10-20 seconds giving you a little more time to position the parts to be glued.  The medium (MV) gives a drying time in between the other’s.  Now this stuff really bonds and they say it’ll bond pretty much most materials to anything and after trying it out i can certainly say it does exactly what they say it will do.

Now the bottles these products come in are very soft plastic so you don’t need to be putting much pressure on them to get the right amount of glue.  Just a gentle squeeze and you’re sorted.  Now one of the other products supplied with the sample pack was some Filla-Glu Undo, which as the name implies is for removing glues from any surface it might of accidently got on.  Which we all know can happen.  So no more scraping tools clean just a few spots of this and you’re going to be sorted in no time at all.  They also recommend that you use the Undo to clean the nozzles of the applicators after use.  Which is pretty sensible, i’ve lost count of the times i’ve gone to use glue only to find i didn’t seal the lid properly and the whole bottle has cured.

The Filla-Glu wicking is the fastest setting glue they currently produce giving you -3 seconds before its sets on you.  So good for those fast jobs where you don’t have the time to be sat holding parts together.  Now used in conjunction with their Filla-Powda or the Filla-Glu Black/Clear which have rubber compounds in them you can bridge gaps which gives you the ideal combination for those difficult parts and no real need for trying to get Green Stuff into awkward areas.

Now the Kicka pen is great it’s a Primer/Cleaner/Activator all in one handy Felt tip style pen.  Simpley go over any tricky area’s and the Kicka pen will clean off any grease or residue.  Then apply the Filla-Glu of your choice and it acts as an activator and speeds up the curing time.  They also advise its sue under certain conditions, like it’s too cold, dry or trying to fill larger gap’s.

Now as a product range I have to say I was more than impressed by what the guys have to offer.  They answered every question I asked and that’s a huge Kudos on the customer service front.  You can’t ask for better than that when you’re stuck (Sorry I had to get the pun in somewhere.).  If you need to colour match check out their colours of war range for a little more fun.

Now the price of these products is great as well.  The Filla-Gap Black/Clear are £4.99, whilst the other products we saw are only £3.99 so in many ways it’s a lot cheaper than buying from their local DIY store especially as they come in 10g bottle’s.
